A bill commissioned to celebrate the centennial anniversary of Route 66 heads to the President’s Desk after passing Congress.
The bill would give power to a 15 person commission to find ways to celebrate the 100th birthday of the first all-paved highway in the U. S., built in 1926.
The commission would include people from every state the old highway passes through, including Missouri.
The road connected Los Angeles to Chicago, with a part going through Springfield.
