Springfield’s Police Chief says officers have handed out the first ticket for violating the city’s facemask ordinance.
The department says the public is informed on the rules of the mandate and should be following them.
The chief says it’s not a burden for officers to respond to calls of mask violations.
The chief also says the department got close to 15 calls over the past weekend about masking mandate violations.
