A Greene County Deputy has suffered serious injuries following a chase near Brighton on Highway 13 this morning.
The Sheriff’s Office says the injured is Lieutenant Steven Westbrook.
Steven has been with the GCSO for 24 years and remains in serious but stable condition.
The Sheriff’s office says deputies responded to a home near Highway WW for a domestic disturbance.
Authorities tried to stop a suspect who drove by the victim’s house and the suspect fled from deputies.
The suspect drove northbound on 13, then turned around and came back southbound towards Springfield.
A deputy, who was trying to deploy stop sticks on the side of the road, was hit by the suspect and that deputy was airlifted to a local hospital.
The driver was taken into custody.
