City Council to Vote on Self-Proposed Changes by Police Civilian Review Board

The Springfield City Council will be voting tonight on some changes to the Police Civilian Review Board.

The Review Board exists to review and evaluate civilian complaints against Police Officers.

One of the changes the council will consider will be to increase the number of seats held by the NAACP from five to seven.

The organization has requested the council, not just the city manager, appoint members to the board.

The board also recommends that joining the board without specific training be easier, but that training still be recommended.
