A man from Springfield is charged with stealing a car that had a three-year-old child inside.
Police say the toddler’s mother left the car running while she went inside her house to get another child.
William Sypolt, 27, jumped inside and took off.
The woman also left her phone in the car, and police were able to track it to some apartments.
Officers found the toddler in a car seat.
Sypolt told police he didn’t know the child was in the car.
Police say they arrested Sypolt twice last month for stealing cars.
