Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller says voter turnout could hit a historic 80-percent or more by the end of the day.
Schoeller says says about 20-percent of voters voted by mail or absentee before the election.
And at least another 25-percent of people voted in person by noon Tuesday.
The Missouri Secretary of State says this election could have voter turnout around 75-percent — the strongest since Bill Clinton was elected president in 1992.
Schoeller says the lines are still long, with about a 45 minute wait.
But that’s much shorter than four years ago in Greene County when some people had to stand in line for up to two hours to vote.
KTTS News will have complete returns after the polls tonight at 7 p.m.
