A man from Springfield has been found guilty of sex crimes committed in January of 2019.
Sean Carter, 26, has been convicted of fourth degree assault and first degree sodomy.
Police say Carter and the victim met on a dating site, when he attempted to force himself on her. The incident happened at an apartment complex.
An off-duty police officer and a woman were in their apartment next door and heard screams for help, and confronted Carter.
Carter was also charged with rape, but was not found guilty due to ‘reasonable doubt’ on the part of the court.
