While most storms will stay below severe limits, the National Weather Service says a few strong storms may develop later Thursday afternoon and again on Friday.
The best chance for bad weather will be south of Springfield, with 50 to 60 mile per hour wind gusts possible in a couple of those storms.
Flooding continues to be the biggest threat, with another one to two inches of rain possible through late Thursday night.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for areas along and south of Interstate 44 through 1 a.m. Friday.
