The U.S. Postal Service confirms an employee in Springfield has the coronavirus and may have exposed others at work.
A spokesman for the USPS won’t say where the employee works or what they do.
Last week, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department informed the community someone went to work while sick and tested positive for COVID-19, possibly exposing up to 65 co-workers, with 13 of those employees showing symptoms.
However, it’s not known if the case referred to by the health department is related to the postal service case.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department reported the case on Friday, but wouldn’t say what company was involved because the case is contained and is not a threat to the public.
