Non-emergency hearings including eviction hearings have been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Greene County Presiding Judge Michael Cordonnier tells KY3, that decision was made by the state supreme court to suspend most court hearings.
Cordonnier says the Missouri Supreme Court made operational changes statewide due to the outbreak.
Non-emergency hearings, like evictions are suspended.
The courts cannot interfere with landlord-tenant negotiations.
Eviction cases can still be filed.
Any tenant is recommended to try to pay rent if they can and maintain contact with their landlord to see if any arrangements can be made.
