Library Programming Cancelled Through End of March

The Springfield-Greene County Library has cancelled all programming and adjusted offered services due to concerns over the Coronavirus.

The Library’s branches and drive-up service remains

All events are cancelled, effective today, through at least March 31.

The Library is making the following changes:

  • Cancelling all programs including storytimes and Edge Mobile classes. Classes at the Edge Community Technology Center will continue.
  • Cancelling all library visits outside of the building by staff, including Walking Books visits.
  • Extending due dates for currently checked out items to March 31.
  • Cancelling all reservations and access to study, conference and meeting rooms.
  • Limiting public access to computers by disabling alternating stations to achieve social distance recommended by health officials.
  • Suspending checkout of all toys in the children’s departments.

The Library ensures that staff are increasing practices of cleaning and sanitizing all frequently touched surfaces and asking visitors to wash their hands after touching materials.

The Library can be accessed from home 24 hours of the day through online services.
