Deputies in Webster County are searching for a suspect they say shot a man at a home in Fordland.
Authorities say the victim was shot once and other rounds went into the house.
Investigators say the shooting happened around 7 a.m. this morning near 1st and Maple street, close to the Fordland Elementary School.
Sheriff Cole says the suspect they are look for is name Jesse St. John but believes he has left the county. There’s no motive at this time.
Webster County Sheriff Roye Cole told KY3 News, the school is on soft lockdown.
Fordland High School was briefly on lockdown this morning, until the scene was cleared.
Deputies say the injury appeared to be non-life threatening.
