Showers and storms will occur in intermittent fashion Monday, with a few strong thunderstorms possible in south central Missouri.
The National Weather Service says a couple of those storms southeast of Springfield may contain hail up to the size of quarters and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
Forecasters say an additional one tenth to a half inch of rain is expected across the area through Monday evening.
A few locations could receive another inch of rain.
Flooding is likely over low water crossings that are typically flood prone, and a flood warning is in effect through late Monday afternoon for areas north and west of Springfield.
