New Bill Calls for Law Enforcement to Police Abortion

A new bill presented to the Missouri House by the representative from Ash Grove suggests that police enforce current constitutional law in a way that completely prevents a woman from having an abortion.

The proposal, House Bill 1799, would require police and the courts to consider abortion the equivalent of carrying out murder by redefining legal terms. It would change the definition of “unborn child” to “a child in a woman’s womb.” It has one co-sponsor.

Representative Mike Moon, the sponsor of the bill, has also brought forward another bill, H. S. 2285, which would more directly abolish abortion in Missouri, and would allow criminal charges against women who have had abortions.
