Experts Believe Kobe Bryant’s Pilot Got Lost In Fog

(AP) — Coroner’s officials are working to recover victims’ remains from the hillside outside Los Angeles where a helicopter carrying  former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and 7 others crashed in a wreck that aviation experts said may have been caused by the pilot becoming disoriented in the fog.

The cause is still under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The tragedy generated an outpouring of grief and shock.

A woman who helped coach the girls’ basketball team that Kobe Bryant’s daughter played on was among those killed in the crash.

Matt Mauser told NBC’s Today show that his wife, Christina Mauser, had a keen defensive mind for basketball and was asked to help coach at Bryant’s academy.

Mauser says he met Bryant when he and his wife taught and coached basketball at a private school in Orange County that the star’s daughters attended.

KNBC-4 in Los Angeles reports that Payton Chester, a 13-year-old member of the basketball team, and her mother Sarah, were also among the nine victims of Sunday’s crash.
