Willard, Hartville, Nixa and Rogersville have advanced to the semifinals in the Blue Division at the 74th Annual Greenwood Blue and Gold Basketball Tournament in Springfield.

Winner’s bracket games are taking place at JQH Arena, with the consolation bracket contests at Hammons Student Center.

(6) Rogersville 50, Bolivar 43:

The Wildcats won a game that was tight throughout. The Liberators took the lead early, going up 11-10 after one quarter.

Rogersville took a 27-23 lead at halftime, but the Liberators stayed within single digits much of the second half.

Bolivar tied the contest at 40-40 in the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats went on an 8-0 run as Kanon Gipson hit some big free throws down the stretch.

The Liberators got within six, 49-43, but couldn’t get a three pointer to fall in the closing minute.

Gipson’s 16 points led the Wildcats, and Cade Blevins added 15.

Hunter Berry and Kyle Pock had 17 points each to lead Bolivar.

(2) Nixa 46, (7) Crane 45:

The Eagles win a thriller that wasn’t decided until the final horn. The Eagles went up 25-16 at the half, but the Pirates went on a 14-2 run to start the third quarter.

Crane took a 34-31 lead into the final period, then extended the margin to eight points, 41-33, with just over five minutes left in regulation.

But the Eagles came back, pulling within a point, 44-43, when Jason Jones drained two free throws with 1:19 remaining.

Kaleb Wofford hit the eventual game winner, a three pointer that put the Eagles back in front 46-44.

The Pirates pulled within a point, 46-45, with 41 seconds remaining on a free throw.

The Pirates defense forced a ten second count against Nixa with 22 seconds remaining, giving the ball back to Crane with a chance to win it.

But Isaiah Smith missed an off balance shot as the buzzer sounded to preserve the win for Nixa.

Smith finished with 16 points to lead Crane, while Jones led the Eagles with 16.
