Missouri education officials say they have a plan to attract more teachers to Missouri.
The proposal is a 400 million dollar one, with an incentives system and an increase in base pay.
The proposal place Missouri in the 26th spot in the nation for teacher pay—up 14 spots from where it sits now at number 40.
Average statewide pay is projected to go from 48 thousand to 54 thousand dollars a year.
