A couple cities in the southwest Missouri area had proposed tax increases on the ballot during the Special Election on Tuesday.
The city of Bolivar proposed that its general sales tax be increased by a quarter of a percent. That proposal passed, earning 64% of the vote.
The city of Lebanon asked voters if they would support a citywide sales tax of one half of one percent. The purpose of the increase is to improve the public safety of Lebanon. Voters passed the proposal, with 56% saying yes.
