Springfield Police have released the name of the man who was killed in a crash Wednesday night at Kearney and Highway 65.

Steven French was from Fair Grove.

He was 68.

Police say French died when he lost control of his 2000 GMC Sonoma on Kearney and hit a traffic pole.

It’s the twelfth fatal crash of the year in Springfield.

Last night we responded to the area of Kearney & U.S. 65 after Steven French, 68, drove a 2000 GMC Sonoma into a concrete curb and then a traffic signal pole. French was taken to the hospital where he died from injuries related to the crash. More info: https://t.co/omn3Oz5dj5
