Firefighters in Lebanon were busy early this morning after four different structure fires in the city.
At approximately 12:15 a.m., firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 500 block of Curry Street. Crews arrived on scene to find a home heavily involved with fire visible through the roof.
Crews say they utilized aerial operations to control this fire which destroyed the home.
Fire crews were still on scene at Curry, when a second structure fire was reported in the 570 block of Miller Street at approximately 1:10 a.m., just a few blocks from the first call.
Crews from Lebanon City, Lebanon Rural FPD, and Tri-County FPD responded to this incident and quickly brought a small fire inside the home under control in less than 20 minutes.
The home received minor smoke and water damage.
A third structure fire in the 500 block of Brice Street was discovered by Lebanon Police at 1:48 a.m. Lebanon City and Lebanon Rural FPD units arrived on scene and found the rear of the home on fire.
Crews were able to bring this fire under control in less than 30 minutes. Damage to this home was minor with the heaviest damage to the exterior of the home.
Finally, a fourth fire was discovered in the 400 block of Curry just a few doors away from the initial call.
Crews from the Lebanon Rural FPD, Tri-County FPD, and Lebanon City Fire were able to extinguish this fire quickly as well.
All four of these fires were in vacant buildings and appear to have been intentionally set. Each of these fires originated in the rear of the home. At least two of the homes were being renovated at the time of these fires.
The Lebanon Police Department and Laclede County Sheriff’s Office saturated the area looking for suspects.
Mercy EMS provided an ambulance in support of operations and the Red Cross provided canteen services.
In addition, at approximately 6:24 this morning, a hale bale on fire was reported on Owen Drive. Lebanon City Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire.
There was no damage to property or other hay bales.
