Springfield’s mayor will be on-hand Thursday to officially start the milestone weekend with the PBR coming to town.

Mayor Ken McClure will be presenting a proclamation as one of the the PBR’s bucking bulls hits the scales to weigh-in against Branson’s New South, playing at Grand County Music Hall.

The bull riding officially kicks off at 7:45 p.m. on Friday at JQH Arena.

WHAT:

The bulls of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) are headed back to town for the eleventh consecutive year and ready to take on the toughest athletes in western sports September 13-15 at Missouri State University’s JQH Arena for the PBR Unleash the Beast PFIWestern.com Invitational.

To officially start the milestone weekend, Mayor Ken McClure will be on-hand Thursday, September 12 at 11 a.m. to present a proclamation as one of the PBR’s bucking bulls hits the scales to weigh-in against Branson’s New South, playing at Grand Country Music Hall.

The season long PBR Celebrate America initiative is a vow and promise from the organization to support local charitable causes, honor community heroes and inspire youth across the nation like those at the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. Following the weigh-in, PBR will present the Boys Ranch with a surprise donation.

As one of the most popular stops on PBR’s premier tour, Springfield is one of five remaining events and the only three-day event in the second half of the 2019 season for riders to gain much-needed points toward the world standings to qualify for the PBR World Finals (Nov. 6-10) in Las Vegas. Fans can expect exhilarating 8-second rides, and spectacular wrecks throughout the action-packed weekend as the Top 35 bull riders face off against the rankest bucking bulls in the business.

The bull riding action begins at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 and 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15.
