A man has been arrested after a shootout and a standoff for most of Friday in Van Buren.
The suspect surrendered just before 5 p.m. and authorities allege the suspect shot a Carter county deputy and a highway patrol trooper. The trooper is named Caleb McCoy and the deputy is named Brigg Pierson.
Pierson sustained injuries to his leg, groin, and chest, and had to be taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
