Missouri State University President Cliff Smart says that now Governor Parson has signed the new budget into law, tuition rates will not increase nearly as much as expected.
Original increases were estimated to be around 10 dollars per credit hour, which comes out to $150 for a student taking 5 classes in a semester.
Smart says that that will not be the case, and the increase will largely just cover inflation, which makes the increase per semester closer to $90.
