NWS Confirms Tornado Touchdowns In Ozarks Tuesday

Survey teams with the National Weather Service have confirmed four tornadoes touched down in the Ozarks Tuesday.

An EF-2 tornado with winds around 134 miles an hour touched down north of Ozark and lifted northwest of Rogersville.

A few homes were destroyed and about 100 homes damaged in the Waterford subdivision in Ozark.

Three people were hurt.

An EF-1 tornado with winds around 95 miles an hour hit the Miller area, damaging or destroying metal buildings, barns and trees.

An EF-0 tornado touched down northeast of Purdy in Barry County.

It was on the ground for about 10 minutes, destroying outbuildings and trees.

The damage path was five miles long and 200 yards wide.

An EF-1 tornado that hit Wheaton touched down near Rocky Comfort.

The twister was a half mile wide with wind speeds around 110 miles an hour.

It was on the ground for about 12 miles, from around Rocky Comfort to Wheaton.

It damaged or destroyed buildings — including four barns — along with numerous trees.
