CoxHealth is warning people in the Springfield area about a phone scam pretending to be connected with them.
The scammers are selling medical equipment over the phone and are claiming to be connected to Cox or Ferrell-Duncan Clinic, calling on behalf of a doctor. They claim that they can get customers a discount if they pay immediately with credit card.
Cox Health departments that handle medical devices to not call patients for doctors out of the blue and they never proactively offer discounts if you pay with card.
Cox health says that patients who have a concern should check with their physician’s office.
