The homeless man that was found on Thursday has been identified.
A body was found in the woods just north of Springfield between I-44 and Kansas Expressway.
Police used his fingerprints to identify him but have not released his name. He likely died of hypothermia.
Springfield has two emergency homeless shelters that open when temperatures drop below 32 degrees.
The first is East Sunshine Church of Christ, which opens at 8 p. m. and the second is at the building of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks on Glenstone and opens at 9.
