Fourth quarter crime stats are in from the Springfield Police Department.
The report states there was an overall 10% decrease in crime in the 4th quarter last year versus in 2017.
Last year there was a 12% decrease in crimes against property compared to 2017. However in 2018 there was a 6% increase in crime against people.
Homicide specifically increased from 4 to 7, rape crimes went up from 75 to 82, where as the number of individual robberies went down by 17 people overall.
According to Springfield police, 100% of homicide cases were solved in the fourth quarter this past year.
