The National Weather Service says flash freezing could be a major problem overnight as temperatures drop more than 20 degrees and freezing rain continues to fall.

Meteorologist Doug Cramer says the roads could get very slick between midnight and the morning drive.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 9 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. Wednesday morning for most of the KTTS listening area, including the Springfield metro area.

Areas along Interstate 49 are also under a Winter Weather Advisory through 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
