  • McCaskill, Hawley Continue Sparring After Both Secure Senate Race Nominations

The stage was set this past week for Democratic incumbent Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill and Republican challenger Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley to face each other in November’s U.S. Senate race.

After winning the GOP primary Tuesday night, Hawley challenged McCaskill to have debates on the back of a flatbed truck.

A report from the Missourinet says during his acceptance speech, Hawley attacked McCaskill for not supporting President Trump’s stance on immigration and Supreme Court judges.

McCaskill says she has a meeting with the President’s pick, Brett Kavanaugh coming up on August 21st and says she’s looking forward to grilling him, she voted against Trump’s previous nominee, Neil Gorsuch, who was confirmed to the high court last year.

Senator McCaskill has been tagged by national political experts as one of the most vulnerable Democratic Senators facing reelection.
