The Springfield community gathered at the Never Forget Tribute event to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
The free event was hosted by Klingner-Cope Community Outreach and included a remembrance walk, guest speakers, and a banner thanking first responders in the area.
Local children displayed their artwork, although some weren't born yet when it happened. The creations were to show that the next generation won't forget the tragic day.
Along with the artwork, 3,000 flags were displated to represent each life lost 15 years ago, including victims, military members, and law enforcement were gave the ultimate sacrifice.
