Whistleblower Protection Restored Under Bill Passed By Mo Senate

Whistleblower protections would be restored for government workers under a bill passed by the Missouri Senate.

It comes after a law pushed through by Republicans last year left workers exposed for reporting wrongdoing.

Democrat Jill Schupp says Republicans probably didn’t expect that to happen because the legislation was so far-reaching.

Auditor Nicole Galloway has asked Greene County leaders for the right to investigate whistleblower complaints filed with her office over the recent sales tax issue.

Commissioners have refused, saying that’s the job of the state ethics commission.
