The Ozark County Sheriff has identified a man who was found dead near his home in the Foil/Squires area Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff Darrin Reed says Lawrence Clinton Brostedt, 73, was found dead from a gunshot wound in a detached garage behind his house.
Reed says the Mountain Grove Police Department had pulled a man over and arrested him on an unrelated warrant for probation violation in Wright County, but also found three personal checks of Brostedt’s in his car.
Deputies with the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office went to conduct a well being check on Brostedt and found his house had been ransacked.
The Sheriff says they found Brostedt’s body under a tarp, wrapped tightly with another tarp and tied with a rope on the concrete floor of the garage.
Evidence shows Brodstedt was likely ambushed from behind and shot.
Reed believes five people are associated with the murder.
Two are still on the run. The Sheriff says one has left the state.
According to Sheriff Reed, Holly Lucas, 42, of Mansfield, has been arrested and is being held without bond in the Ozark County Jail. She's charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, burglary and two counts of robbery.
The Sheriff says Tyler Teynard, 32, of Squires, has fled Missouri and is possibly heading to Orlando, Florida. Teynard has been charged with the same two counts or criminal action, burglary, and robbery. As well as a first-degree murder charge.
Michael Smith, 23, of Mansfield, is being held in the Ozark County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond. Smith has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
More charges are expected this coming week on the two other suspects connected to the crime.
