Severe Weather In The Ozarks Causes Strong Winds Through Springfield Metro

Severe thunderstorms across the Ozarks leaves behind lots of damage, power outages, and tree limbs down across the area.

There were reports of 80 mph wind gusts moving through the Springfield metro this evening.

Power outages caused traffic lights to go out at many intersections in Springfield, including lights in front of Bass Pro Shops at Campbell and Sunshine.

Tree limbs came down, blocking roadways in Ash Grove and Nixa. Trees snapped and shingles were blown off a house at Village Terrace and Golden and an apartment complex at Walnut Lawn and Kansas Expressway. Crews say at Plainview and Farm Road 137, a tree went through a house.

Go patrol spotters say both a tree and light pole fell down at Chestnut Expressway past Broadway.
