We had just .10 inch of ice in the Springfield area from the first round of freezing rain, but round two is headed our way from Wednesday afternoon through evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory starting at noon Wednesday through 3 p.m. Thursday for areas south of Highway 60, where an early onset of freezing drizzle, freezing rain, even sleet is expected.
A winter weather advisory starts at 3 p.m. Wednesday and goes through 10 a.m. Thursday for Springfield and all areas north of Highway 60.
Total ice accumulations will range from .10 to .20 inch.
Forecasters say there could be a changeover to sleet, and while impacts to the roads are possible, road surface temps may stay warm enough for slick conditions to be limited to bridges and elevated roads.
