After a search that lasted more than a week, an inmate at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking is back in custody.
The Department of Corrections says John Toy Long walked away from a work assignment outside the secure perimeter of the facility back on January 25th.
Local law enforcement, K-9 units from the Farmington Correctional Center and Ozark Correctional Center, and a helicopter were all part of the search for Long, who was arrested over the weekend by the Licking Police Department at the intersection of Highway 137 and VV.
After authorities identified Long's identity, he was taken to the medical department at the prison for an exam and was provided food and water.
Long is serving two concurrent six year sentences for receiving stolen property and second degree burglary.
