Man Wanted For 2 Killings Arrested Friday Morning

A man wanted for two killings in Springfield has been arrested at a house in the 3300 block of Farm Road 148, around Sunshine and West Bypass west the Springfield city limits.

Willie Haughton has been the focus of a hunt by police after two men were found shot dead in their cars about a week apart. 

Thursday, there was a standoff at a house near Kearney and Bolivar Road.  Three people came out of that house and were questioned.


Update as of 11:20 p.m. : The standoff on Bolivar Road, ends at 11 p.m. without an arrest. 

The search for Willie Haughton continues

The Springfield Police Department are now asking for your help to find Haughton.


Three people have been arrested during a standoff near Kearney and Bolivar Road in north Springfield.

Willie Haughton, a man wanted for murdering two people, was not of the men arrested.

Haughton is wanted for shooting two men in their cars about a week apart. 

He had posted bail and was released from jail for assault charged for days before the first shooting.

As of 3:30 p.m. Thursday, there's still a heavy police presence with the Special Response Team and an armored vehicle.


Springfield Police have surrounded a house near the Bolivar Road Apartments at Kearney and Bolivar Road as they look for a suspect in the murders of two men.

Police are looking for Willie Haughton, who's wanted for the murders of Lance Loveless on March 27 and Robert Hewitt on April 1.

Police say both men were found shot to death in their cars in separate incidents.

Authorities say both men knew Haughton.

Haughton is described as a violent criminal who's considered armed and dangerous.
