One Person Dead After Car Crashes Into Book Store In North Central Springfield

Police in Springfield have released the name of a man who crashed his car into a book store in north Springfield early Saturday.

Police say Matthew Combs, 27, from Springfield, was driving fast heading westbound when he crashed into the Book Rack book store off West Central Street.

The woman in the passenger was taken to the hospital and is now listed in critical condition.

Police say there is some danger for the rest of the building that it might collapse into the street. 

The street has been blocked off by police.
