Man Gets Probation For Trying To Take Pictures Up Woman's Skirt At Walmart

A man from Strafford has been sentenced for trying to take photos up a woman’s skirt while shopping at Walmart.

The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson says William Lynn Bennett, 30, of Strafford was sentenced Wednesday for attempting to secretly take photos of a woman under her skirt while in the store.

Court documents say Bennett was seen on surveillance by a Walmart loss prevention officer who reported it to police.

When interviewed by the police, Bennett admitted to the conduct and said he has trouble fighting urges and he wanted to know if he could get that close and if it was really that easy.

The state requested the defendant receive a sentence of 90 days with two years of probation, supervised by probation and parole.

Judge Harmison suspended the imposition of sentence on the one count of Attempted Invasion of Privacy.

With a suspended imposition of sentence the defendant does not receive a conviction and if the defendant successfully completes probation the charge will no longer be a public record.
