The libertarian leaning Americans for Prosperity and the policy driven group American Civil Liberties Union - ACLU - have teamed up to host a bipartisan panel to discuss ways to end mass incarceration in Missouri.
Jeffrey Mittman with the ACLU of Missouri tells the Missourinet that he thinks the rate of imprisonment in Missouri reflects a national problem.
Jeremy Cady with Americans For Prosperity Missouri wants the panel discussion to focus on reducing the prison population by helping individuals that get released to reintegrate back into society.
The two groups are hosting their joint panel on mass incarceration this evening in St. Louis. Americans for Prosperity is politically libertarian while the ACLU defends the Bill of Rights and is sometimes associated with progressive policies.
