The Greene County prosecutor has filed several charges against a man arrested overnight for two homicides.
Willie Haughton, 24, faces two counts of murder, two counts of armed criminal action, first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a weapon.
Springfield Police arrested Haughton, who was suspected of committing two murders earlier this month. He was arrested early Friday morning near Sunshine and the West Bypass.
According to court documents, police say Haughton shot Loveless twice in the head. Loveless' wife said the two left the couple's home to trade guns. Police say the two then got into a dispute.
Haughton wore a bulletproof vest during the exchange. Detectives found a Smith and Wesson pistol that matched Loveless' story where Haughton was arrested.
Springfield police spent 16 hours Thursday surrounding a house on Bolivar Road, thinking Haughton was inside. Three other people were arrested, but police left that house around 11:00 p.m, without finding Haughton.
