A Greene County sheriff's deputy has died after his vehicle was washed off a farm road in Fair Grove.
The sheriff's office confirmed early Saturday morning that Deputy Aaron Paul Roberts was found dead after an extensive effort to rescue him.
Authorities say Roberts cleared a 911 call in the 9500 block of Farm Road 2. As he was returning to service, the deputy radioed in that his car was washed off the road.
Water rescue crews searched late Friday evening around the Pomme de Terre River off Highway AA.
The sheriff's office is asking you to keep Deputy Roberts' family in your prayers during this difficult time.
A water rescue is in progress near the Greene and Dallas County line.
The rescue is ongoing near Farm Road 221 and Farm Road 2

9/7/18, a Deputy cleared a 911 call in the 9500 block of FR 2. He was returning to service & moments later radioed that his car was washed off of the road.
