Greene County Deputy Dies After Patrol Car Swept Away By High Water

Water rescue crews searched all evening for a Greene County Sheriff's Department deputy after his patrol car was swept downstream by fast-rising water in Fair Grove.

According to the sheriff's office, Deputy Aaron Paul Roberts had cleared a call in the 9500 block of Farm Road 2.

As he was returning to service, Roberts radioed in that his car was washed off the road.

Crews focused the search in the Pomme de Terre River off of Highway AA.

Roberts was found dead near his patrol car.
