On Friday, Greene County has started using its own version of the prescription drug monitoring program.
The data will consist of patients’ information and what prescriptions were filled.
The PDMP will be managed and paid for by a grant money out of the St. Louis County Health Department and will cost $16,000 a year.
Prescribers will be able to access the database beginning October 1st.
Under the new law, pharmacies would be fined a $1,000 if they fail to report the information.
