Ex-Major League Pitcher, Jack Hamilton, Dies At 79

Ex-Major League Baseball pitcher Jack Hamilton has died this week in Branson.

He was 79.

Hamilton signed with the St. Louis Cardinals at the start of his career.

He pitched in the big leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Mets, the Chicago White Sox and the California Angels.

He's known for a legendary pitch in 1967 that hit Boston Red Sox slugger Tony Conigliaro in the eye.

He nearly died.

Hamilton retired in 1969.
