The Greene County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man after a high-speed pursuit through Springfield Wednesday night.
The pursuit started Wednesday evening when deputies attempted to stop a car at West Bypass north of Chestnut. The driver stopped at Nichols and West Bypass.
Deputies say they noticed drugs and a digital scale. Deputies say they then asked the driver to step out of the car. He took off.
The pursuit ended near South Campbell and Nottingham after the driver hit a tree. He tried to take off on foot before he was captured.
Deputies say the driver even went the wrong way down Kansas Expressway.
