Convoy of Hope among recipients of $1 million Johnny Morris foundation gift

Springfield, Mo. (KTTS) - The kickoff gala to celebrate the new Johnny Morris Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium was as much about celebrating others as it was the decade-long project.

A night of twists brought one especially exciting moment for Springfield-based Convoy of Hope.

Bass Pro Shop's Rob Keck took the stage to talk about the Johnny Morris Foundation's desire to help hurricane victims in Florida and Texas.

Part of their commitment to help those impacted was the announcement of a $1 million donation. 

One of the recipients will be Convoy of Hope.

Jeff Nene, national spokesman for Convoy of Hope, confirmed to Scripps Media's Chase Snider on Twitter that the $1 million will include a donation to the relief organization.

Nene joined Keck on stage at Wednesday night's gala in Springfield to receive a check on behalf of Convoy of Hope.
