Branson Aldermen Reject Nearly $500 Million Water Park That Would Use Tax Money

City leaders in Branson rejected a nearly half-billion-dollar proposed water park resort that would have used substantial tax dollars.

A report from the Missourinet says emotions ran high as the city's Board of Alderman voted 5-to-1 against the proposed "Branson Adventures" Tax Increment Funding plan.

Businessman Bill Nichols spoke in favor of the project.

Chris Myers of Myers Hotels opposed the project.

The massive water park project is off for now, but the developer can still come back with a revised plan.
