School officials at Baptist Bible College in Springfield are making some changes to their security.
The upgrade is happening after a student was robbed and pistol-whipped on school grounds by someone not associated with the campus.
A statement from the college says a student was assaulted while waiting for a friend.
Some of the new security measures that will be implemented soon include: increased security from 11 p.m.to 2 a.m. each night and additional lighting around stairwells, and parking lots for better visibility.
Security officials have already provided students with a security hotline, security patrols, campus text alerts, along with self defense classes and active shooter training.
