Scripps Radio Springfield Spreads Literacy Awareness

Hundreds of Ozark children will be surprised with a book to call their own thanks to Scripps Radio Group, KTTS, KSPW, KSGF, and KRVI, and the Scripps Howard Foundation "If you give a child a book..." campaign.

The Foundation serves more than 1.5 million people by identifying and supporting life-changing community programs.  Last October, Scripps Howard Foundation kicked off their first book campaign company wide. With the Foundation match and Springfield radio employee donations, we were able to raise enough donations to purchase 250 books to benefit Ozarks Literacy Council (OLC) to help our children in our community.  The primary need for these books will be distributed to children Pre-K through second grade.

OLC is dedicated to spreading literacy awareness by placing books into the hands of children that would benefit the most.  To find out more about OLC or how to get involved, please visit
