The National Weather Service says not much is expected with upcoming rainy weather.

Drizzle is expected, mainly after noon on Sunday.

The National Weather Service is expecting overall milder temperatures in the next few days. They say expect temperatures around 30 in the Springfield area tonight.

Consistent south winds are key in keeping the temperatures up. They are expecting moisture and cloud cover Sunday.

However, freezing drizzle is still a possibility.

“Overall we are expecting everything to be liquid. If the drizzle comes in sooner than we think, there could be pockets of freezing drizzle” said NWS Meteorologist Drew Albert, “We are unsure how the abnormally cold ground temperatures could affect the drizzle coming down.”

We will likely see a tenth of an inch of rain.

“It’s always best to check the weather right before you go out in the morning, so you have the latest information” said Albert.

Later in the week we are expecting temperatures to get up into the 50s.
